John Inman, MD
Dr. Inman is a board certified family medicine physician treating patients of all ages on Daniel Island and the surrounding communities. Dr. Inman is a native of South Carolina. He grew up in Greenville and has been living in the Charleston area since starting medical school at MUSC in 1989. Prior to medical school he attended Appalachian State University and graduated with honors with a degree in Exercise Science. After medical school he completed his family medicine residency at MUSC and served as a chief resident during his final year. It was during his residency training that he met his Daniel Island practice partner, Dr. Hunter, who was one of his attending physicians.
Dr. Inman has been practicing as a board certified family medicine physician in the Charleston area since 1996. His experience has included time with the Charleston Navy Hospital working as a civilian physician in the primary care clinic and the urgent care prime clinic at the Navy Weapons Station. Along with Dr. Dalila Bellil he founded and operated Charleston Family Medicine for 5 years in the town of Mount Pleasant where he lives.
Dr. Inman served as the medical director of student health services at the College of Charleston for the 10 years prior to joining Dr. Hunter at Island Medical in 2018.
Dr. Inman is married to Dr. Amy Bailey Inman who grew up on Isle of Palms, attended Wando, Furman and MUSC. She practices as an anesthesiologist in physician offices in the Charleston area. They have two children, Andrew and Katherine.
Dr. Inman likes to spend free time outdoors and enjoys low country activities but also loves to get back to the upstate and the mountains of North Carolina when he can. He enjoys exercising and patient fitness is a special interest.
